Spike Lavender Essential Oil
Spike Lavender (Lavendula latifolia) Essential Oil
Spike is not the true Lavender (Lavendula angustifolia) but a cousin of sorts. Spike Lavender has more of a camphor-like and woody note. With it's penetrating smell, Spike Lavender is more associated with respiratory health and pain management.
This is one to use for your steam inhalation or diffuse during cold and flu season. It'll also help with headaches.
Spike Lavender has a stimulating effect, so you might prefer to use this one during the day and avoid if pregnant.
Spike Lavender is rich in linalool, 1, 8-cineole, camphor, and borneal compounds. A couple of these compounds are also rich in Eucalyptus. Spike Lavender blends well with Eucalyptus for a DIY respiratory blend.
NOTE: this is not the Lavender for relaxation. Try our Provence Lavender for calming and relaxation plus a lovely aromatic bouquet.
